London – Pope Francis is expected to be on Sunday to make his first public appearance since he was hospitalized in Rome more than five weeks ago.
Officials of the Gemelli Hospital, where the 88 -year -old Pope has received treatment after being diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia, they said they were preparing for the Pope to appear in a window. It is expected to briefly greet the crowd gathered and offer a blessing.

The area near the hospital entrance was filled with people on Sunday morning. People also flooded in the Plaza de San Pedro in the Vatican, where they can see the Pope’s greeting through large television screens.

After Francis’s appearance at the hospital, he is expected to leave the facilities by car and return to the Vatican.
